SACOP Benedict XIV Homes
A co-financing partnership project with Manos Unidas of Spain, SACOP Benedict XVI Homes is located in the foothills of Mt. Arayat in San Agustin-San Pablo, Magalang.
Its first two phases consists of 237 housing units compose of a 27m2 core house constructed on an average of 100m2 lots. The site is serviced by basic utilities like water, electricity and public transportation. It is a stone throw away from the town proper, market place, Catholic Church and the seat of the local government, district hospital, schools and university.
The housing project provides opportunities for low income wage earners, renters and sharers to have a house and lot they could eventually call their own. The units are awarded to qualified applicants for a maximum term of 30 years amortized monthly. Most of the awardees come from Magalang and neighboring towns.
The project’s main advocacy focuses on a gambling-free and waste-managed community.
