EPHATHA Development Center used to be the training facility for the enhancement of knowledge and development of capacities of SACOP assisted people’s organizations (POs) formed and organized after the eruption of Mt. Pinatubo. The PO’s became SACOP’s partner in facilitating restoration, rehabilitation and social development interventions in the calamity devastated communities. Upon graduation of the assisted people’s organization from SACOP direct community development assistance in the late 1990’s, the center was offered for rent as a venue for conferences, seminars and trainings, and formation of peoples. The center transformed without veering away from its initial goal of
“Empowering People by awakening Human Aspirations and Training Human Abilities”
Today, EPHATHA is a highly competitive center that offers its facilities for conferencing, lodging and catering, and events celebration. It is accredited by the Department of Tourism as a training center under its Other Establishment category. It is also registered with PhilGEPS ably catering to the conferencing needs of line government agencies.
EPHATHA has two large conference halls – Saint Ferdinand Hall can accommodate 50-70 participants, Virgen de los Remedios Hall can be divided into two halls that can accommodate 50-100 participants, two board rooms for 15-25 persons. Annexed to EPHATHA is the Good Shepherd Hall intended for big events and celebrations that can be divided into two halls for easy accommodation of 100-500 guests.
EPHATHA also provides lodging space on twin, triple and quartet sharing, and dormitories for student guests. It can easily accommodate 62 guests in the fully air-conditioned rooms fitted with its own separate comfort room and shower room. Accommodation space can be extended to a maximum of 75 guests by putting additional beds in the rooms.
EPHATHA gives discounts and freebies to valued and loyal clients. It also sponsors archdiocesan activities as per agreement.
