The Livelihood Program started as a support program to SACOP’s community development interventions. It initially provides financial assistance for the rehabilitation of crops farmers and establishment of community-based livelihood projects for women. With the graduation of the assisted community organizations, the program extended micro-finance assistance to enterprising individuals and groups through the provision of working capital for business expansion, purchase of equipment and supplies and support in the expansion of business reach. It also provides a venue for the enhancement of management and financial capabilities of clients through training and workshops, and the sharing of knowledge and learning with peers.
Its different loan windows cater to small and medium enterprises, motorcycle and tricycle, group livelihood projects, employees and self-employed through its multi-purpose loan, and assistance to archdiocesan schools.
Loan rates ranges from 1.5 to 2.75% per month based on loan amount brackets for a minimum term of 3 months to a maximum of 3 years. Fees include a 2% Service Charge, actual amount of mortgages and notarization, PhP50-PhP100 for the Abuloy Fund depending on loan amount, and 5% penalty charge in case of default.
